The FED Costs Us Again
by Paul Fuentes in

Now, per Fed Government regulation (not a new law passed by Congress), every city in America will have to change its street signs.   By reugulatory fiat (the new way Obama will rule), there is no federal reimbursement of costs associated with the new promulgation.  So expect your local property tax bills to go up.

http://www.myfoxny.com/dpp/news/local_news/nyc/Thousands-Of-Street-Signs-To-Be-Replaced-NYC-20100930-apx

Once again, how do we tolerate bureaucrats dictating to our local governments how to run their own roads and highways.  How do we tolerate an appointed (NOT ELECTED) bureaucratic Tsar imposing expenditures on local governments, when most local governments are are already on the brink of bankruptcy??  This is insane.  And those who vote for those that are proponents of these policies, need to be quarantined.

Like I said, liberty is lost in not one great act, but in increments imposed for our our "health, welfare, and safety".

Seizing the Internet: The Next Step
by Paul Fuentes in

During the brief tenure of our President elect, we have seen some disturbing trends in Democrat attempts to limit free speech. First, the Obama administration sought a way to silence contrarian talk radio by implementing new FCC rules. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=31802  That effort was followed by Obama trying to find a legislative method of countering the Supreme Court's striking down a law that limited campaign spending by corporations, with no equal limit of unions..ESPECIALLY government emplyee unions.  Enter the "Disclose Act" which almost passed this year.  The act was specifically targeted at exposing corporate donors, while simultaneously hiding union donors. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/09/23/AR2010092304578.html?hpid=moreheadlines  Now the latest.  There is a move afoot to implement "Net Neutrality".  What does this mean?  That, if implemented, you would not have the same access to sites like Pajama Media, Fox News, and other conservative internet sites.  http://spectator.org/archives/2010/11/24/seizing-the-internet

Never before have I witnessed ANY presidential administration make such bold moves to silence criticism and opposition.  Reagan did not do it. Clinton did not do it.  Bush (Sr. and Jr.) sis not do it.  These acts are unprecendted, unless of course, we compare them to the reign of Hugo Chavez, the Red Chinese, or Cuba.

Remember folks, liberty is rarely lost as a culmination of one big event or act.  It is most often lost as a culmination of dozens or hundreds of little steps.  We are seeing those little steps being taken like a game of leap frog where the ultimate loser will be YOU.

You need to stay focused and you need to pay attention.  Otherwise, when you wake from your dormant stupor you might find the world you face much different than the one you remembered.

Where Is Our Country??/
by Paul Fuentes in

Let me get this straight. 3 of our own have been detained by Iran and accused of espionage since 2009. Essentially, hikers that crossed into Iranian territory. Yet, where is OUR government on securing their release??

Yes, I see some videos of Hillary promising American action. But to date, no news agency, no White House press release, no Congressional act, has addressed the problem.

We await the actions of a zealot bent on developing nuclear weapons, who has already vowed to take out the Jewish state. So, where are we in terms of showing the almighty American force?? Nowhere.

These hostages are essentially children from our own sovereign. They are now subject to the ultimate penalty, DEATH. Yet, our press, media, and Government do nothing.

What would Reagan/Bush do?

Reagan Must Have Been a Psychic!!!
by Paul Fuentes in

Today, I heard the following speech in its entirety for the first time.  Yes, I had heard bits and pieces played by radio pundits before.  However, hearing the entire context brought upon me an eerie feeling that the passage of  Obamacare was worse than what we perceive.

Some key points in the speech are:

* In 1927, Norman Thomas, a leader of the American Socialist Party encouraged changing labels of Socialism to Liberalism.  He acknowledged that anything labeled Socialist would never be accepted by the American electorate, but labeling it as "Liberal" would ensure that American society would accept it.  Let's not forget that the new term is "Progressive".

* The speech was delivered in 1961, just about a half century ago.  Think about that.  Almost 50 years ago.   Yet the same issues, the same player (UAW) are key today.

*  In 1961, according to Reagan, the federal government was involved in or controlling almost 20% of the GDP of the nation.  What has changed?  USA owns GM, Chrysler, AIG, and various other institutions.  The UAW is well and good thanks to Obama's takeover of GM and Chrysler.

*Using healthcare was a tool to let the G gain a foot in the doorway to bully their way in and take control of many other aspects of our lives.

*VERY IMPORTANT:  Create a national emergency/crisis where NONE exists.  That is exactly what Obama did.  Describe the health care issue as a life or death issue, then slam it down our throats.  What did Emmanuel Say:  Never let a crisis go to waste...

I'll let you decide on your own:

Quinn Tries To Veto Sunshine Commission
by Paul Fuentes in

Fresh off a close election, Governor elect Pat Quinn tried to veto legislation that would create the "Sunshine" Commission.  The Sunshine Commision, consisting of 2 legislators from each party and 4 citizen members, would review every state program for effectiveness, efficiency, and duplicity.  Quinn tried to change the legislation via amendatory veto, wherein he tried to make the commission consist of 4 of his appointees.  Quinn's amendatory veto was overriden by more than two thirds of the General Assembly.  All Republicans voted for overriding Quinn, while 22 Democrats sided with Quinn.

Once again, a candidate who runs on a campaign boasting new transparecy and elimination of government waste fails to live up to promise the first chance he gets.  The following is the link to the full article in Illinois Review:  http://illinoisreview.typepad.com/illinoisreview/2010/11/sunshine-commission-likely-to-break-through-legislative-clouds.html#more

The President Most Maligned By the Left?
by Paul Fuentes in

Is George Bush the United States president that was most maligned by the left?  I must admit that I did not pay close attention to politics until the late 70's/early 80's.  I will futher admit that I feared Reagan as president during the 70's.  I was brainwashed by my educators that Reagan was going to start a nuclear war with the Soviet Union.

Albeit, the left did attack Reagan.  Reagan (using the 20/20 vision of hindsight) was a masterful tactican in using his rhetorical skills to build public pressure against the left Congress and institutions and get his policies passed.  Bush lacked that ability.

And yes, because of his inablity to harness negative rhetoric, he was forced to cave in to the spending pleasures or the Caligula Congress in order to get funding for the troops overseas.  That, ultimately, was his greatest fault.

That said, I will not join the chorus in labeling George W. Bush as a bad president.  Let's not forget that only a few months into his first year as president, the United States was subject to acts of terrorism and war within its own sovereign boundaries.  Blame Bush?  Idiotic.  The terrorist cells had been developing for almost a decade under Bill Clinton's administration.  The 9/11 terrorists did not arrive here in 2001.  They were here for quite a while and allowed to take flying lessons on our own soil, case out airport security, and do whatever they needed to do to plan out such a bold endeavor.

IMHO, I tend to judge people by what they do and how they react in times of great crisis.  And the 9/11 attacks culminated in the worst crisis I had ever faced....attacked on our own soil, more than 3,000 dead in one blow, and hundreds of others saved by some brave souls that forced a hijacked plane to crash in rural Pennsylvania in the greatest gift of self-sacrifice, their lives.

Obama, Holder, and Civilian Trials. How Is It Working Out???
by Paul Fuentes in

So how are civilian trials working out?  Obama, and his basketball buddy friend, Eric Holder, whom Obama appointed Attorney General of these UNITED States, seemed to have FKD up on their decision to prosecute a terrorist enemy combatants in civilian courts rather than in military courts (as has been the practice from the time the nation was founded until Obama).

Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani was acquitted on 279 of 280 counts in a trial held in a New York civilian court before United States District Court Judge Kaplan.  Why the acquittal?  Oh, only because once civilian laws were applied, as opposed to military tribunal laws, the bulk of the evidence against the POS (Piece of Sh&t) was ruled inadmissable on 4th Amendment grounds.

Now, do your own research into the Constitution and the 4th Amenment.  As an attorney I can promise you that that Amendment starts off with language that protects "citizens".  Not enemy combatants invloved in terrorist acts against our sovereign interests, domestic or foreign.  HUNDREDS of people were killed in the bombings against our embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.

But the POS was acquitted on murder charges, but found guilty of ONE count of damage to property.  Justice is served via Obama and Holder.  Here is the full story:

We Need Cheddah!!! I.E. $$$$$
by Paul Fuentes in

There are 23K + voters registered in Berwyn.  This past election, 986 voters voted Republian in the primary and 2800+ voters voted Republican in the General election.

Looking at the data, there are about 2000 solid Republicans in Berwyn.  Out of that group. I am willing to bet that less than 1% willing to respond to being part of a new Republican organization.  So about 200.

Here is the skinny.  It would take 2000 mailers to try to build an organization of 50 to 100 peeps.  That's just the way it is.  So we need to raise $1000 to do a 2000 voter mailer.

Please help.

We cannot do it all without you.

Happy Thanksgiving To All
by Paul Fuentes in

Tomorrow, I will NOT be eating turkey, nor stuffing, nor other traditional goodies.  Why?  Because I will travel to McHenry County to spend Thanksgiving in a rather BLUE household.  That said, they opt out of  eating turkey because "they are such colorful birds".  Instead I will eat ham, NOT kosher, but I need to get protien in terms of 100 grams per 1 lb of lean body weight, while I am not very lean.

So...FKT...I'll pop some methyl 1AD and leave it at that.  By the next cycle I'll be ripping 8 discs on  a deadlift.

The Worst Illinois GOP Chairman....Ever??
by Paul Fuentes in

Take a close look at this gentleman.  He led our Republican party in Illinois until he decided to announce his resignation at the Illinois State Fair Republican day on August 20, 2009.  During his tenure, we had no REAL candidate aginst DICK (Town Hall Meeting Dodging) Durbin.  Madigan has increased his majority in the House and Senate AT WILL.  He resigned stating he had a record of raising funds and "developing a grass roots ground game"???    What Ground Game????

This comes from the same idiot that used GOP funds to finance a poll for governor where his name just happened to be one of the candidates.  28 thousand dollars never approved by the state central committemen.  At the time of his resignation, he stated he was not running for office.  Yet a few months later, there he is, running for governor.

If this is true, we have problems.
by Paul Fuentes in

I just found this article doing some research.  I do not know the author, so I am in no way validating his claims.  However, somethings can empirically be determined to be true.  For one, it is true that there were no Republican candidates for judge this past election.
I feel the need to point your attention to it here, as I will not cloak our party leaders by posting only favorable information.  If we are to grow in strength and numbers, it is essential we deal with the negative head on.  It is not our yoke to insulate others, but rather our duty to start a process of internal cleansing of what is wrong and fortifying what is RIGHT.

So Democrats Favor Hispanics?
by Paul Fuentes in

I guess that would be true if, and only if, that question was dissected and researched enough where eventually anyone with a single functioning neural cell would conclude Democrats only care about minorities as far as their tally of votes on election day.  Let us look at the Democrat record with African-Americans.  Before the "great" social programs, the out-of-wedlock birthrate amongst African-Americans was below 30%.  Now, it is well over 70%.  12% of the American population is African-American, yet over 50% of the population in American jails are African-American.  This is no surprise, as the biggest single factor in predicting criminal behavior is the absence of a father figure.  Are African-Americans concentrated in metropolitan areas like New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Philadelphia better off today after nearly a half century of total Democrat control??

Yet, they almost always vote 90% + for whatever Democratic candidate is on the ticket.  Why?  Simple answer:  They are now subservient to a new master...the Government.  The plantation owner has been supplanted by the G as far as providing food, housing, education, health care, and other perks paid from funds confiscated from another citizen's pocket.  This is the same plan Democrats have for Hispanics.  Give them amnesty, offer them free government programs...etc..!  But if one looks at the Hispanic "hoods", what do you find?  Spanish Harlem is still Spanish Harlem, East L.A. is still East L.A., Little Village and Pilsen remain the same.  Crime riddled, graffiti vandalized neighborhoods where voter participation still remains lowest on radar; Hispanics boast the highest drop-out rates nationwide; single mom households are on the rise; and, Hispanic dependence on government grows day by day.  Nice job of leading us to new heights Democrats!!!

Do We Need a New RNC Chair?
by Paul Fuentes in

I think so.  Although Michael Steele seems to want to take credit for the Republican victories in Congress in the midterm elections, I have a different view.  Correct me if I'm wrong, Steele seemed to shun tea party favorite candidates until the numbers showed almost a sure victory.  In the last days of the Senatorial campaign in Alaska, Steele pulled all funding from Joe Miller, favoring Lisa Murkowski.  Locally, time will tell how much the RNC supported the Congressional candidates in Illinois.

I will admit I supported Steele in 2008 to be the RNC's new chairman.  But, through his resume, I expected a far better showing in terms of fundraising and developing a somewhat sustainable ground game.  I say "somewhat sustainable" because the reality is that Republicans will never have the resources entrenched unions can provide.

Once again, the message the RNC misses, as do the state and county GOP parties, is that you do not need an Army the size of AFSCME or SEIU to compete.  A few well placed locally known operatives in precincts can do wonders.  I will take ONE individual who knows his neighbors, their kids, leads a boy scout or PTA group, over an outsider sent from SEIU in ANY precinct.  Familiarity works wonders.  However, before we can succede, we will need a coordinated top/down, east to west coordinated drive to id Republican voters and turn them out on election day...i.e....Rove's 72 hour plan used effectivly in the 2000 and 2004 elections.

I could dig into Steele some more, but I rather not dwell on the past, but the opportunity of the future.

Did We Make A Mistake?
by Paul Fuentes in

Let's make one thing crystal clear.  I did NOT support Kirk in the primary.  The only signs you saw in Berwyn were those of Patrick Hughes.  I only put up his signs and voted for him at the end because I could not stand Giannoulias.  Kirk was a lesser of two evils.

That said, we must watch Kirk and flood his phone, facebook, and twitter accounts every time he is about to step in it. (Phone:  847-498-0300;  Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/share.php?u=http://www.kirkforsenate.com  ;  Twitter:

He is about to step in it, according to the following article.  It seems he is leaning towards joining the Democrats in voting in favor of the "Disclosure" bill.  The bill is a thinly veiled attempt to silence free speech by corporations in requiring that they disclose the names of their political pac donors, while unions are exempt from such disclosure.  We must flood him now!!!

A Rising Star
by Paul Fuentes in

Albeit the Brady/Plummer ticket came up short in the November election, we must judge each candidate by his respective merits. I did a comparison of Brady vs. Plummer numbers in the February primary, and here is how they respectively compared in terms of votes garnered per certain jurisdictions:

CHICAGO COOK DUPAGE KANE LAKE MCHENRY WILL KENDALL
BRADY 5.42% 5.13% 5.59% 5.99% 5.70% 8.52% 6.75% 6.74%
PLUMMER 21.00% 23.62% 29.51% 25.53% 26.52% 34.51% 29.80% 35.17%

Opinion: President Obama Plans to Cut Social Security Next
by Paul Fuentes in

By: Lawrence A. Hunter, President, Social Security Institute

President Obama is playing “Watch the Birdie” with Americans over the age of 50, diverting their attention with handouts and scare tactics to hide in plain sight the enormous damage his policies are doing to the retirement safety net.

First it was Medicare. The ObamaCare legislation drops a few free goodies like breadcrumbs in front of Medicare recipients (such as free diagnostics and annual checkups) to draw their attention away from the enormous cuts in Medicare being used to help pay the freight for the new national healthcare system. Additionally, the White House has engineered a full-blown propaganda campaign, coordinated with the AARP, to deceive Medicare recipients and baby boomers about the magnitude and the implications of the $575 billion in Medicare cuts being used to help pay for ObamaCare. Even more deceitfully, using TV icon Andy Griffith in a taxpayer-funded TV ad to talk about how happy days are here again, the Obama Administration and its mouthpiece AARP are attempting to hoodwink people over the age of 50 about the inherent healthcare rationing sown into the very fabric of ObamaCare.

Senate Bill 600
by Paul Fuentes in

Since 2005, a few Republican elected officials, and thousands of constituents, have wanted a change in how state Republican central committemen are elected. We were once enfranchised with the ability to elect our central committeemen, just as voters elect their Democratic central committemen now. http://www.campaignsitebuilder.com/user/infogopillinoiscom/download/SB600NewsReleases5-18-05.pdf  http://www.championnews.net/article.php?sid=509
As it stands now, committeemen vote for the state central committeemen, not our voters. And, for the last 5 years, the Republican leadership in the state house (Tom Double-Cross) has insured the bill just lies in committee and does not come to a vote in any session other than a veto session. To understands the reasons why, the following should lend some guidance:
